An Interview with ModaMama, Joanna Haughton

I am so excited to have the fabulous Joanna Haughton from ModaMama as one of my "Super Momma" featured sponsors for September and October! If you don't already know her, you are in for a treat. Let's put it this way--she is a humorous Canadian actress and mother who does Kung Fu, speaks Polish, and loves fashion. Yes, seriously. Now for the interview...

Tell us about your blog.

ModaMama is my little fashion corner of the webiverse.  It's filled with my daily outfit photos and sarcastic ramblings usually of the geeky nature.   There's random tidbits, quirky musings, funny quotes of the day and of course my CoffeeTalk Vids! Basically, it's just a light little slice of life that hopefully makes you giggle, or shake your head - I'll take either.

Tell us about you.

It's feels odd to talk about myself, like I'm applying for a dating video: Actor, Tv host, photographer, sci-fi nerd, and boardgame geek, who can kill you with her bare hands from 12 years of Kung Fu training. Loves ruffled dresses and pretty, pretty shoes, and is recently obsessed with her Vintage-esque bike. I so would not get any dates!

Any embarrassing moments or funny stories you'd like to share?

Really?  Don't I do that enough on ModaMama?  I think I'll take me one and only opportunity to say pass on that and not tell you of the time I was playing board games with friends at a local cafe and yelled out at the top of my lungs, "Woof! Woof!" Hey, I got a victory point for that.

What is your biggest goal?

To get Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears out of belts as mini-skirts and into proper clothing.

What's the worst job you've ever had?

Um...retail.  I love people and fashion, but that was just not for me!

Tell us about the best vacation you've ever experienced.

Bumming around Europe for three months.  Yup, nothing like getting peed on by a Lion in Berlin, and drinking delicious Port on a beach in Portugal.

Where would you most like to travel and why?

Japan and China.  I'd love to study Kung Fu for a couple of months from actual Shaolin monks.  And I'd love to hone my Samurai sword skills from the masters in Japan.  So you know, a relaxing vacay.

Are there any quotes that have been meaningful or inspirational for you?

What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.  I've not had the easiest of cards dealt to me in this life - but I'm still standing here, and I'm stronger for it.

If money was not a factor in life, I would:

Travel, make films, and get a large walk-in closet.
